St. John Church

This church was built in the year 1852, the divine church is located amid Forsyth Ganj and Mcleod Ganj. People identify the place as the church of st.John in wilderness. It’s a monument to Lord Elgin, which showcases in stained glass windows with gorgeous work.

Dal Lake

Dharamsala, one of the world's largest natural lake. It is an admired picnic and trekking spot. It is sited 11 kms from the central city.

Kangra Art Museum

Kangra Art Museum of Dharamshala, houses a very good variety of famous Kangra Kalam works,arts,crafts,costumes and other treasures that date back to the 5th century.

Library of Tibetan Works & Archives (LTWA)

It was founded on 14th August 1988, Dalai Lama and serves as an institution to preserve and promote Tibetan culture.

Namgyal Monastery


It was originated in the year 1575 by Sonam Gyatso, the third Dalai Lama.It is the utmost frequented pilgrimage in the area. Also, recognized as Victorious Monastery. It is a popular center for Tibetan teachings and is also known as the Little Lhasa.

Chamunda Devi Temple

The famous temple is dedicated to the goddess Chamunda and is 15-kms away from Dharamsala.It is situated in Dadh village.  A trip here offers amazing picturesque with sky touching mountains,Baner khud, pathiar, and Lahla forests.

Pong Lake Sanctuary

It is situated in Kangra district of Himachalpradesh in the year 1983. It is 32 km from Pathankot and 115 km from Dharamsala. The major attraction is for a wildlife sanctuary with wild life species like Nilgai, Sambar, Barking Deer, Wild Buar, Clawless Otter, and Leapord. You can also see migratory ducks from Siberian region. At a distance, you can see the reservoir where Fishing and water sports facilities are available for water sport lovers.

Dharamkot

Dharamkot is an excellent and popular Hang Gliding destination in Himachalpradesh and is liked by many nature lovers. This is situated on the crest of hill 11 kms from Dharamsala and is surrounded by lush green deodar trees and beautiful landscapes. It spots beautiful picturesque of Kangra valley, Pong Dam Lake and Dhauladhar ranges. It gazes like a mini Israel.

Maha Rana Pratap Sagar

Maharana Pratap Sagar is a reservoir located in the Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh. Earlier this dam was also known as Pong Lake, which was built in 1960 on the Beas River.

Gomateshwara statue in Venur

Venur 30kms from Dharmasthala is prominent for the Gomateshwara statue. This statue is installed in the year 1605 by an Anjila prince.

Rock-cut temples in Kunal Pathri


It is a rock pilgrimage near Dharamsala,dedicated to the local goddess, Kapaleshwari.

Reaching Dharamshala

By Air:

Gaggal Airport, located 13 kms away from Dharamsala is also recognized as Kangra Airport or Dharamsala-Kangra Airport (DHM) receives few flights. Jagson Airlines has flights to Delhi, Chandigarh, and Kullu, while Kingfisher Airlines only serves Delhi.


By Rail:

Pathankot is the nearby railway station situated 85 km away from Dharamsala. A ride to Panthankot takes about 3 hours. There are comfortable night trains to and from Delhi, a much better option to the bus.

By Road:

The major bus terminal is in Lower Dharamsala, but some public HRTC buses to Delhi and Pathankot go all the way to the main square of McLeod Ganj. The bus services connect Dharamshala with Manali, Delhi, Chandigarh, Kiratpur and Bilaspur.
