India is a fascinating country. It has a history spanning back to thousands of years. The foundations of modern civilization were laid in this wonderful country. Indians laid the foundations of mathematics and medicine, astronomy and religion and morals and ethics. India gave the world the first text book to be ever written—the rg veda. India gave the world the greatest of religions—Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism. Indians gave the world the concepts of ahimsa (non-violence) and equality among men.

About the greatness of other country, Mark Twain once said:
"India is the cradle of the human race, the birthplace of human speech, the mother of history, the grandmother of legend, and the great grand mother of tradition. Our most valuable and most astrictive materials in the history of man are treasured up in India only!"

Max Mueller, one of the greatest scholars of all times once said:
"If I were asked under what sky the human mind has most fully developed some of its choicest gifts, has most deeply pondered on the greatest problems of life, and has found solutions, I should point to India"

India’s contributions to mankind become evident from a famous quote by Albert Einstein—the greatest mathematical genius of all times:
"We owe a lot to the Indians, who taught us how to count, without which no worthwhile scientific discovery could have been made!"
