In the movie, a film unit goes to a forest to make a film. Sharma (played by Gautam Rode) and Aasha (Priyanka Kothari) are the leads in the film while JJ (Harvey Rosemeyer) is the director. Sujan 9Nitin) is the assistant director. Sameera is attracted towards Sujan. However, Sujan silently loves Aasha.
After the crew reach the forest, Sharman tries to dominate everyone. At one place, he even threatens to leave to place but is not able to leave as the plane service is not so regular. Things keep going like this, and the crew reach a particular spot in the forest. However, the camera stops working and so the producer tells Lakhsman (Ishteyak Khan), the cinematographer to get a replacement. It will be sometime before the new camera arrives, so the crew decide to take a look inside the forest. They reach a beautiful place in the forest.
It is now that things start going haywire. While they enjoy the beauty of the place, they hear a cry only to find Setu (Joy Fernandes), the guide killed in a gory manner. With Setu gone, they don't know how to return back to base camp. Subsequently, Murthy, the producer and JJ also get killed. No one knows who is behind these murders. As the remaining members run for their lives, Lakhsman gets injured in an accident and Sharman and Raka, the stuntmaster fight with one another. Lakhsman commits suicide by stabbing himself.
Subsequently, Raka kills Sharman. But Raka hears a sound from behind. He challenges the unknown power to face him. The force sucks him into the ground and he gets killed. Now, only Sujan, Aasha and Sameera remain alive.
Sameera commits suicide, leaving only Sujan and Aasha alive. Desperate and hopeless, Sujan reveals his love for Aasha and she reciprocates it. Both decide to fight till the end and not give up hope. In the end, Sujan realizes that the unknown force is repulsed by water. So, they reach a stream and escape back to civilization. The movie ends abruptly with a notice informing the viewers that sequel called Adavi-2 is on its way.
On the plus side, the movie has some compelling scenes. Kudos to Ram Gopal Varma for these scenes. Priyanka Kothari's glamour is another attraction and so is the well-built muscular body of Nitin. Camera work and photography are pretty good and music is average.
On the minus, the entire movie revolves in the forest with no visual relief. The plot also lacks depth and has some inconsistencies. One wonders, why the crew decide to stay in the forest. Additionally, we also don't know what kind of supernatural phenomenon is involved. Maybe, we will come to know more in the sequel.
Overall, its is a good movie. If you are the type who likes to get thrilled, go and watch the movie.
